The Critical Care Advanced Level Course is suitable for post-foundation level pharmacists with more than six months experience in an ICU.

This course is made up of four 2-hour virtual sessions, each requiring delegates to undertake pre-reading, attend the online sessions and complete an assessment for each session. Upon successful completion of each session and the appropriate assessment, delegates will be awarded a certificate of completion.

Session 1, Thursday 11 April 2024, 4pm - 6pm:
Drug handling in critical care: The effect of critical illness on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.

Session 2, Thursday 18 April 2024, 4pm - 6pm:
Managing common cardiac challenges in the ICU.

Session 3, Thursday 25 April 2024, 4pm - 6pm:
Advanced decision making for patients with AKI or renal replacement therapies, and chronic or acute liver problems.

Session 4, Thursday 02 May 2024, 4pm - 6pm:
Neurological challenges in critical care, including agitation, delirium, and NICU for the generalist.

Should this course not reach its minimum number, the UKCPA reserves the right to postpone this event and offer registered delegates a place on an alternative course.
