This is part 1 in our 2 part gastroenterology webinar series.
The webinar will focus on issues predominant in patients with high output stomas on gastrointestinal surgical wards and is suitable for pharmacists who have recently specialised as well as those who are working at early advanced levels. The webinar will include information and advice for primary care pharmacists in managing patients with high output stomas.
This webinar has been designed for primary and secondary care pharmacists and pharmacy technicians involved in the care of patients with stomas. The webinar is suitable for those newly qualified, those with an interest in gastroenterology and looking to expand their knowledge, those who have recently specialised as well as those who are working at early advanced levels.
The aim of this webinar is to provide the required knowledge and skills for pharmacy teams who are involved in the care of patients with stomas
After this webinar, attendees should be able to:
- Describe the different type of stomas and how they differ in their behaviours
- Discuss the pharmaceutical management of high output stomas
- Discuss alternative options to high output stoma management when medical management fails
