Introduction to heart failure: a reduced ejection fraction

This is the first webinar in the series: Heart failure focus.

This webinar will define and describe the signs, symptoms and diagnostic criteria for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction.  It will also aim to outline the recommended drug treatments and how and when they should be used and monitored.

This webinar will be of particular benefit to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians looking to develop a baseline knowledge of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, working in all sectors of pharmacy practice involved in the care of these patients.

The aim of the webinar is to provide the knowledge required for the attendees to be familiar with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and the evidence based drug treatment.

After this webinar, attendees should be able to:

• Define heart failure with reduced ejection fraction HFrEF (and appreciate why this is important)
• Outline the diagnostic criteria for HFrEF
• Describe the evidence based drug therapies and ongoing monitoring required for HFrEF
