As menopausal care develops the benefits of managing hormonal deficiencies in women in this period of their life is better understood. It is important that all healthcare professionals understand the symptoms of menopause and the treatment options for women. The webinar will cover the identification of women with menopausal symptoms, methods of management of those symptoms and the supply and review of HRT in order to maximise best outcomes for your patients.

This event will be of benefit to primary and secondary care pharmacists and technicians involved in looking after women in the menopausal period.

The aim of this webinar is to provide pharmacists and technicians with an understanding of the options for pharmaceutical care of menopausal women. It will cover the symptoms of menopause, treatment options available and how to maximise treatment benefits while minimising the risks of HRT.

After this webinar, attendees should be able to:

  • Recognise the symptoms of menopause
  • Explain the risks and benefit of initiating HRT in women in the peri-menopausal/menopausal period
  • Summarise the resources that support HRT regimen changes and substitution
